Javascript V8 Engine
Hello there, I'm Adnan Sarkar, currently studying BSCSE at United International University. At present, I'm learning full-stack javascript.
The V8 engine is created for executing javascript code in a famous web browser, Google Chrome. This engine also contributes to building NodeJS Which is bring out javascript from the web browser and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser. This v8 engine is a turning point for javascript language.
V8 Engine
The V8 engine is created by google and officially released in 2008. This engine is open-source (no hiding secret), and high-performance for executing js code and written in C++ programming language.
Every programming language has its own compiler or interpreter to compile & execute its codes. The V8 engine does the same job for javascript. It handles memory allocation for variables, and objects and has a garbage collector to ensure the dynamic memory spaces. This garbage collector is so accurate that's why the performance of this engine is so high, and it basically frees those memories which are allocated by unnecessary objects.
What V8 Does
- Single Thread and creates a single memory stack.
- manage dynamic memory which is Heap.
- Garbage Collector for heap memory.
- Provides all built-in data types, objects, and functions
- Provides event-loop for Asynchronous programming (in Node js).
- JIT-Compiler for immidiate compilation.
